Who we are

This website, www.frozenbasketug.com, is run by Frozen Basket Ltd, which trades as Frozen Basket. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Frozen Basket Ltd. We handle personal data in line with the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019 of Uganda and its regulations.

The short version

• You can browse the whole website without giving us your name or any other details.
• The website does not take orders or payments, and it has no accounts or log-ins.
• The contact form does not send or store anything. It opens WhatsApp with your message ready to send.
• We use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used, and Google AdSense to show adverts.
• We never sell your personal data.

Information you give us

When you message, call or email us. If you contact us on WhatsApp, by phone or by email, we receive what you choose to share, such as your name, your phone number and your message. We use it only to answer you, for example about the menu, allergens or a party booking.

Delivery orders. When you order for delivery, we also need your delivery location and a phone number to reach you on. We use them only to deliver your order, and the person delivering it receives them for that purpose.

The contact form. The form on our contact page is not connected to a server. When you press "Send on WhatsApp", it opens WhatsApp with your name, phone number, topic and message filled in. Nothing reaches us unless you send that message. WhatsApp is run by WhatsApp LLC, part of Meta, and its own privacy policy (opens in a new tab) applies to messages sent through it.

Information collected automatically

Analytics. We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people use. They record details such as the pages you view, the site that sent you, your type of device and browser, and your approximate location (city or region). Google Analytics uses cookies for this. We use these reports to improve the website and the menu, not to identify you.

Advertising. We use Google AdSense, which may show adverts on this website.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this website and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings (opens in a new tab). You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info (opens in a new tab).

The map. Our contact page shows an embedded Google Map. When it loads, Google receives your IP address and may set cookies, under Google's own privacy policy.

Hosting. Like every website, our hosting provider records technical information when pages are requested, such as your IP address, browser and the time of the request. This is used to keep the website secure and working.

Links to other websites. Our links to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, WhatsApp and Google Maps take you to services with their own privacy policies. Nothing is shared with them until you follow a link.

Cookies and how to control them

Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. This website does not set cookies of its own. The cookies you may see come from Google Analytics, Google AdSense and Google Maps, as described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The website still works without them.

The website may keep copies of its pages and pictures in your browser's storage so that it opens faster and still works when you are offline, and it remembers for two weeks that you closed the "install the app" message. Neither contains personal data. Clearing your browser's site data removes both.

Who we share information with

We do not sell or rent personal data. Information is handled by the service providers that make the website and our messaging work: Google (analytics, adverts and maps), WhatsApp (messages) and our hosting provider. Some of these providers process data outside Uganda. For delivery orders, the person delivering your order receives your location and phone number. We may also share information when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep messages, call details and emails only for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and for our normal business records. Analytics data is kept for the period set in our Google Analytics account and is then deleted automatically.

Your rights

Under the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019 you can ask us to:

• tell you whether we hold personal data about you, and give you a copy of it;
• correct personal data that is wrong or incomplete;
• delete personal data we no longer have a reason to keep;
• stop using your personal data in a way that causes you harm or distress, or to send you marketing.

Children

This website is meant for a general audience and does not ask for anyone's personal details. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before you contact us.

Keeping information safe

The website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and it does not store personal data of its own.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page if the way we handle personal data changes, and change the date at the top when we do.
